The SSAA is part of the certification and accreditation process of the Ministry of Defence Security of Defence Information Technology (DITSCAP). The DoD statement (December 1997 edition, which describes DITSCAP and contains a structure for the SSAA document, is DODI 5200.40. DITSCAP was cancelled on 6 July 2006 and replaced by an Interim Defence Department (DoD) procedure manual. The sSAA documentation is cited in the interim guide, but only as a transition to the replacement of DITSCAP, the DoD Information Certification and Accreditation Insurance Process (DIACAP). SSAA is not mentioned in DIACAP as a necessary documentation format.
